In view of spreading tourism footprint beyond the known hubs of Dimapur and Kohima, and capture the unique culture and dramatic landscape in the interiors, ‘Nagaland Offroad’ will become the one-stop-shop for the discerning traveller who is keen to explore and gain experience and unadulterated truth of remote area travel.
Reports suggest that WBB & Nagaland Tourism have jointly announced this expedition by providing new opportunities to travellers to explore the area. Those interested, they can hire 4x4 self-drive vehicles to facilitate their travel.
Reports have it that the trails and routes curated have been mapped out thoroughly, which will offer travellers a unique way to experience the land, the people, and their lifestyle.
Also, with the option of indulging on one’s own self-planned itinerary, Nagaland Offroad will be conducting self-drive expeditions for enthusiasts, which will be experiential in nature and offer them options to get a glimpse of the lives and lifestyles of tribes across the state.
To support the said initiative of the Nagaland Government, WBB will be creating value addition by providing support of geographical and technical and research-based expertise for off-road trails.
Commenting on the initiative, Kitto Zhimomi, Commissioner, Secretary, Nagaland Tourism said that the intent is to use the vehicle of Nagaland Offroad to create livelihood for the people living in the interiors.
This will help to trigger the local economy, and the offshoots can be many as homestays, workshops, arts and crafts, traditional foods, and other adventure sports like trekking, mountain biking, etc, he added.
Nagaland Offroad is curating unique off-road trails district-wise to enable travellers to take on independent travel in the hinterlands, he stated.
