Kedarnath Yatra: You will soon be able to book helicopter services on IRCTC website

For all those planning a visit to Kedarnath, and want to book helicopter rides for the same, the IRCTC has made the process simpler for you.

As per the latest news reports, the IRCTC will soon start the process of booking helicopter services to Kedarnath temple online, which as reported earlier, is all set to open April 25. This means pilgrims will be able to book their tickets for the same from the IRCTC website.
If reports are to go by, a trial run of the helicopter services will be completed by March 31, whereas the online booking system will likely start from April 1.

The DGCA has already issued a circular in February with regard to the helicopter pilgrimage operation for 2023. The circular has laid down the guidelines and responsibilities that helicopter operators are required to follow, and also mentions certain guidelines that the respective Shrine Boards or District Administration need to follow to ensure safe and smooth helicopter operations.
This development comes after IRCTC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) for a period of 5 years for providing helicopter ticket booking service to the pilgrims of Kedarnath Dham.

Also, if you check the state’s official website notice, it states that the helicopter services for 2023 Shri Kedarnath Dham Yatra will be booked through IRCTC heliyatra website.

So, all those who are interested in booking the helicopter services, they will have to register themselves on the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, which can be done through the Tourist Care Uttarakhand mobile app, and also through the WhatsApp facility.
