The West Bengal state government has announced that flights from Mumbai and Delhi will now be allowed to operate only twice a week, i.e., on Monday and Friday. This move comes in view of rising Coronavirus across the country. And as per the latest reports, the fresh guidelines will come into effect from January 5. Read less
Apart from this, the state government implemented a new set of restrictions, indicating that movement of vehicles, people and public gatherings of any kind shall be prohibited between 10 PM to 5 AM. However, emergency and essential services shall be permitted during this time.
If reports are to go by, the state has already registered a surge in COVID-19 cases in the past few days, prompting the state government to take strict measures to control any further spread of the virus.
