Nepal's finest experience
Nepal is a nation that requires no introduction for tourists. It's Himalayan adventures are well-known across the world, and so are its wondrous experiences. Of course, Mt Everest is one of its major draws; but, besides the tallest peak in the world, the nation has numerous other great adventures and experiences awaiting travellers in the Himalayan kingdom.
We have listed five major experiences that you must have when visiting Nepal.
Everest base camp trek
Not everyone's cut out to conquer the tallest peak in the world, but that doesn't mean you cannot get close to this natural wonder. Try the Everest Base Camp trek, which takes you through the picturesque Himalayas. The trek is a wonderful opportunity to come close to Mt Everest without actually climbing it. Then, you also get immense bragging rights. But, of course, the country has tons of other trekking options, so take your pick if this one is a little too hard.
Visit Pashupatinath
One of the holiest sites for Hindus across the world, this grand old temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located in Kathmandu, it is a spiritual awakening that you will come to face here. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the temple was established in the 16th century. It is also the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu.
Visit the lakes
Nepal has some of the most gorgeous lakes that you will ever come across. Most of these are glacier-fed, and are located high up in the mountains. The Gokyo Lakes, for example, are just amazing high altitude lakes; then there's Gosaikunda, that is a pilgrimage site as well. Then, of course, there is Pokhara, where you can spend your days dreaming by the lake side.
Eat like a local
Try Nepali cuisine when you are in Nepal. The nation has some amazing food, most notably the much revered Thakkali food. But there's much more to it. Try the food of Khas people, who are known for their modest dal-bhaat-tarkari (rice-lentins-vegegtables) love; the incredible Tibetan cuisine; and, of course, the Nepali momos. You are in for a huge treat if you are open to explore.
