The beautiful princely state of Rajasthan is renowned for rich customs and traditions. The state is known for its colourful folk dances and performances, which are a part of the tradition and every dance form here has a significant history attached to it. The dance belongs to the snake-charmers of the state. The dance performance is also recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Heritage. It involves elaborate ethnic attire, heavy make-up and jewellery. Women dance while men play the musical instruments like dholak, khanjari and pungi.
