Tourists will soon be able to enjoy train rides on the scenic UNESCO world heritage Kalka-Shimla track in Himachal Pradesh. The good news is that the railways have opened bookings for its luxury coach ‘Jharokha’ as well.
Referring to this development, a railway official said, “There are regular train services as well on the track. But we are providing additional services as it is peak season of the visitor.” He also added these special trains garnered INR 14 lakh by taking 38 trips on the Kalka-Shimla route in the last year.

The official further stated, “Joyride caters to those who want to have fun on short distance on the heritage track. It can be experienced at INR 445 per person. The train is covering around 15 km in approximately one hour.”
