Founded in the year 1998, this is a relatively unknown gem of Vasco. It is a one-of-its-kind museum in Asia that displays fighter aircrafts and other weaponry such as torpedoes, anti-ship missiles and warheads used by Indian Navy's aviation unit. Just as you enter the gated compound, you will find a parking space to the left and choppers and old aircrafts on the other side. This is the outdoor part of the museum. As you walk past the second gate, you are directed towards the indoor museum that proudly displays a large model of INS Virat and other aviation equipment. It also houses a photo gallery depicting the history of naval aviation and pictures from 'Operation Vijay' during liberation of Goa. Situated on high ground, the naval plateau gives stunning views of the Indian Ocean and is just a few minutes’ drive from the airport towards Bogmalo Beach. If you are travelling with kids or youngsters, this is a must do museum. Depending on your interest, you could spend anywhere between 30 minutes to 3 hours in the premises. Except Mondays, this museum is open for visitors between 10 AM and 5 PM.
