Pongal is celebrated in the month of January; the word ‘Pongal’ in Tamil refers ‘to boil’. This four-day long harvest festival is of much importance for the people of Tamil Nadu people; during the festival, they pray to and thank the Sun God for their harvest. The festival is also marked by boiling the first rice of harvest. Therefore, Indian Railways’ Pongal package is expected to be a boon for many.
You will be travelling by train, and as a part of the package, you will get morning tea/coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and one bottle of drinking water every day. Tour escort and security on the train will also be provided. Items of personal use, service tour guide, entry fee to monuments are not included in the package.
