The National Fossil Wood Park, Tamil Nadu

Another must-visit and unique fossil park in India is The National Fossil Wood Park in Tiruvakkarai, Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu. The park is maintained by the Geological Survey of India and was established in 1940. The place is home to petrified wood fossils (fossils of trees) that are nearly 20 million years old.

Shivalik Fossil Park, Himachal Pradesh

Shivalik Fossil Park or Suketi Fossil Park is a prominent national heritage in Himachal Pradesh. There is a collection of prehistoric vertebrate fossils and skeletons inside the park that were recovered at Suketi. The prime feature of the place is an open-air exhibition of six life-sized fiberglass models of extinct mammals.
