Essential Indian travel experiences
There is so much to do in India that one can easily be confused as to where to begin, what to do. What are the right experiences to have had in this diverse nation? For starters, this is a hard question to answer, but if you narrow down your interests, you might have answers. We are going to give you the top four, one for each part of the country, which means, north, south, east, and west.
Take a look at these essential Indian travel experiences.
Rann of Kutch
In the west of India, you have the beautiful Rann of Kutch, salt marshes that you have never seen before. The best time to visit this area is during Rann Utsav, the annual festival. Located in the state of Gujarat, the Rann of Kutch is divided into two, the Little Rann and the Great Rann. It is dry most of the year, and is a unique destination.
North-east India
Coming to the east, there is so much you can do. Start your trip in Kolkata, and then move towards the north-eastern states. The seven sister states as they are called, are culturally diverse, with numerous ancient tribes and more. Not to forget that this area is completely seeped in natural splendour, and the cuisines are delightful.
Houseboats in Kerala
While South India has thousands of amazing experiences, we think that a houseboat experience in the state of Kerala should be one of the best. Of course, the state is known as God’s Own Country for a reason, it is a true haven for nature lovers. Sail away languidly in a houseboat, eat, drink, and be merry in the backwaters, explore villages, and more.
Trekking in the Himalayas
You come to India but don’t experience the Himalayas? That is some sort of travel sin for certain. So, head to the north of India and get your mind blown by the mighty Himalayas. There are numerous treks you can choose from, of all sizes, and difficulties. Take your pick, and go for it. If you can head to Leh sometime during your trip, we would say you have earned the pro title of being an Indian traveller.
