It is the most famous promenade and shopping area in Athens. The street runs 1.5km long and is pedestrian only, making it popular for both local shoppers and tourists. Tourists will recognize some of the big international stores and designers such as H&M, Marks & Spencer’s and Zara. If you want to get a taste of the local life, head to the departmental store Fokas which is housed in a beautiful building. This street truly has something for everyone. There are shops for cheapsouvenirs and even a huge cosmetic shop with an in-house café. There are a plethora of shoe stores too that line this street, and the shoe lovers will take delight in the discounted prices. If you don’t speak Greek, but plenty of English, you are lucky as most of the workers in the store speak English. Because of the new economy in Greece, shoppers can pick things on a real bargain. We absolutely recommend visiting this street before you leave Athens!
