Cheers! Vineyards close to Mumbai that you can tour with your valentine
If your partner is a wine lover, a trip to vineyards could be the perfect Valentine gift you can plan this year. However, if that is not the case, you can opt for a vineyard vacation for the sake of its ambience and amenities they offer. It will take you away from the hustle of cities, which are complemented with beautiful vineyards, and luxury resorts where you can spend some time in leisure with your partner.
If you are keen for the same, here’s our pick of the best vineyards near Mumbai that you can visit this year with your beloved.
Sula Vineyards
It's the country's most popular and one of the biggest vineyards, and sprawls across an area of more than 3000 ac. Reports suggest that this vineyard contributes to 80 per cent of India’s wine sector, and has earned several awards owing to its premium wine quality. The vineyard also boasts of a luxury resort, which comes complete with luxurious rooms, restaurants, spas and gym along with an infinity pool. You can also enjoy a stroll with your partner along the winding paths and bask in nature all around. While this spot is ideal for a day trip, you can spend more time here and head out to explore the nearby areas too.
York Winery
Situated not quite far from Sula Vineyards, York Winery is a spot where you visit for sublime sunset tastings. You can take part in the wine testing session too, as the tasting room here is open daily from noon to 10 PM, whereas tours are offered until 6 PM. Foodies can even head to the Cellar Door restaurant, which specialises in serving Indian cuisine paired with York wines.
Although this winery has won a lot of awards for its wine varieties, the most impressive one is its Arros reserve blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, which was released in late 2014.
Fratelli Wines
This remote vineyard boasts of being one country's biggest wine makers that specialises in producing some of the best reserve wines on its 240 ac estate. If you book a full-day package for this spot, you will enjoy a guided tour, followed by lunch and much more. However, for best experience, it is advised that you opt to stay at least one night in the winery's modern accommodations, which is not that difficult to reach.
Four Seasons Vineyard
Located around 25 km away from Pune, Four Seasons Vineyard is popular for offering tours that take you inside their winery. Here, you will get to see how their winery operates with one of the most sophisticated equipment that has been brought from Italy and France. After the tour, you can participate in a structured wine tasting session. The rose wine that you get to taste here is a must-try. Don’t miss to take back home a few bottles of wine from here, as you will get great discounts too.
Vallonne Vineyards
Vallonne Vineyards is popular for being the country’s first boutique winery and a vineyard resort that offers the best wine experience to blow you over. Complete with a boutique hotel, winery tours and a restaurant, your visit to this place will be full of excitement and exploring. Since the spot sits on the gentle slopes of the Sahyadri ranges, scenic views are guaranteed, which makes it an ideal place for wine tourism and vineyard stays.
