The state Museum of Bali, strategically located in the centre of Denpasar City, has a wide variety of art and history to offer. The museum is made up of four main buildings within the grounds; Tabanan, Karangasem, Buleleng and Timur. The historical objects and art displayed in these four buildings consist of theatrical masks and musical instruments, sculptures and paintings, textiles and archeological finds, respectively. The state Museum of Bali, strategically located in the centre of Denpasar City, has a wide variety of art and history to offer. The museum is made up of four main buildings within the grounds; Tabanan, Karangasem, Buleleng and Timur. The historical objects and art displayed in these four buildings consist of theatrical masks and musical instruments, sculptures and paintings, textiles and archeological finds, respectively.Keris, Endek Cloth, and religious ceremony equipment such as Sangku, Cecepan and Sidakarya mask are to name but a few of the many artifacts found in the museum.
Museum Bali was constructed in 1931 by architect P.J. Moojen with the intention of preserving the ancient heritage and culture of Bali, as it is thought that throughout the years the country has felt the symptoms of cultural erosion.
Museum Bali is open to the public and has become a well-known tourist attraction in Denpasar Town and is a highly recommended place to visit.
