When operational, these river-taxis would reportedly basically be machine-operated boats that will run faster than the currently operational ones, and will play a crucial role in bringing down the travel time for daily commuters. What normally takes 45 minutes by road will be covered in just two to five minutes by the upcoming river-taxis.

These app-based high-speed river-taxis will be available on the Lachit Ghat, Machkhowa to North Guwahati route.
The app-based cab provider is also looking to enable advance bookings for these river-taxis so that bookings become more convenient and streamlined. The ultimate goal of starting this service is to strengthen the transportation ecosystem in the region.
"Convenience and safety of the commuters are paramount to us. Our aim is to stand out as a reliable choice of transportation for the country. Our intent is reflected in all our partnerships with various state governments across transportation and tourism. As a part of this endeavour, we are delighted to partner and work with the Government of Assam to enhance and empower the local transportation infrastructure,” said Vijay Ghadge, Vice President Operations of the app-based service.
