5 pocket-friendly caravans to hire in India for that ultimate road trip
If you have been seeking to explore mountains, jungles and deserts without leaving behind your home, here is a good option for you. Campervans are gradually growing popular as they also seem to suit the style of slow travel, especially after the COVID situation. With this option, you can manage to avoid the crowd, and get a mini home-on-wheels, without compromising the comfort and luxury of your home.
As such, to make your task easier, here’s a list of five best campervans that you can think of hiring and exploring your favourite holiday destination.
Wacation Wheels
Launched in 2016, Wacation Wheels takes you across the country, and does not limit your travel to a single state. As per the records, they have managed to forge tie ups with around 30 campsites across Northern, Central, and Western India, allowing you to explore more destinations of your choice. No matter what your choice is, i.e., from snow-capped Himalayas to the pristine beaches down south, they can take you anywhere you want. For hiring, you can do so from Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Bhopal, and Indore. They have two vans; while the smaller one has capacity to accommodate four people, the bigger one has the capacity to accommodate nine. They come equipped with washroom facilities, and are fully air-conditioned as well. As regarding the price, the smaller caravan will cost you INR 2500 per person per night, whereas the bigger will cost you INR 25000 per night.
Trippy Wheels, Bengaluru
This option will be quite pocket-friendly as they offer reasonable caravan options in Karnataka. Their caravans come equipped with all basic kitchen and home essentials, whereas you will be shelling out just INR 3000 per night. However, the caravans don’t come equipped with a washroom, for which the driver will guide you to certain pit stops and hotels to freshen up. If you pick this option, you will be able to visit spots like Kundapura, Hampi, Hirekolale Lake, Dubare Forest Camp, BR Hills, Tala Kaveri, Sakrebayalu, Bhadra Sanctuary, Dandeli, and Yana. In the near future, you might be able to take the caravan to Goa and Andhra Pradesh, as they have plans to extend to other states as well.
Camper Trails
Camper Trails offer caravans that are well-equipped with bunks to accommodate five adults. They have a kitchenette with all the supplies to make sure your meal is served at the right time. They also have a mini fridge, a TV and much more. Further, a clean toilet is also available within. This service was founded by Chandrakanth Ramoji in 2018, with a luxurious Jayco trailer imported from the United States. As regarding the price, it will cost around INR 8000 per day for five people on weekdays, whereas it will cost INR 10000 per day for five people on weekends.
Green Dot Expeditions
If you have been seeking to travel to offbeat locations or love backpacking, this will be your best bet. From letting you camp at less-explored beaches to faraway desert or near a river, Green Dot Expeditions will fulfil all your expectations. As regarding the price, their tariff ranges from INR 7000 to INR 10000 per person for one night. They even come with an attendant to take care of your meals, and are equipped with all the camping essentials.
Campervan Camps, Bengaluru
This is an offering from Karnataka Tourism, which is India’s first fully-equipped premium camper van, Luxe Camper, which ensures safe travel even during the pandemic, and is in line with the changing concept of travel in India. From pristine beaches, historic places and sanctuaries, their camper will take you anywhere you want. With their caravans, you will be visiting Bandipur National Park, Gokarna beach, Kabini Forest, Hampi, and Bheemeshwari among others. As regarding the price, they will cost around INR 25000 to INR 74000 for two people, which will depend on the places you visit.
The camper comes equipped with a kitchen, fridge, microwave, TV and a music system too. These vans can accommodate eight people at a time.
