Dublin's most pleasant and popular central park lies at the end of Grafton Street, a gentile, leafy oasis after that gauntlet of shops, human statues and buskers murdering U2 songs. Pretty posh and very pleasant
Noteworthy for: Glam rock fans might recognise the Green from the cover of the Thin Lizzy album 'Shades of a Green Orphanage'. A life-sized statue of singer Phil Lynott stands on nearby Harry Street.
The Green is lined with splendid Georgian houses converted into offices, hotels and restaurants, and it's here you'll find some of the city's fanciest places to lay your head and fill your belly - although you may wish to have use of an expense account.
Those who love 18th century architecture have further treats in store: from here it's only a short walk to the heart of Georgian Dublin. If your interests are more inclined towards the Guinness-drinking side of things, it's also only a short hop from here to one of the city's liveliest areas for nightlife, Harcourt and Camden Streets.
