Mixing a dose of San Francisco’s history with delicious local beer, the tap room at Anchor Brewery has to be one of the most unique places to enjoy a cold one in the bay area.Anchor Brewing Company was founded in 1896 in San Francisco, and today it is one of the last remaining breweries producing California common bear, which is more widely known as Steam Beer. Anchor Steam Ale is the best selling beer from the brewery, and can be found across the United States, however it’s worth doing a tour of the 119 year old Potrero Hill Brewery, which starts and ends in the tap room.
The tap room looks out on the Massive copper stills of the working brewery and every Christmas Ale bottle since 1975 can be found behind the bar.
The $20 per person tour includes sampling of 6 different Anchor beers, fresh and perfectly poured, however it books out in advance so make your reservations early!
Drink to try: Try all the beers they put in front of you!
