Alinea opened in 2003 and gave Chicago a taste of something it had never had before. “Alinea” meaning a new train of thought, offers three separate dining experiences. The first is the Alinea Kitchen Table (or AlineaKT) for groups of six or more. Gathered around a table, the Alinea chefs and waiters serve exciting delicious foods. The second option is the Gallery menu, wherein a tasting menu of 16 to 18 courses provides the opportunity to explore different tastes, textures and unconventional serving methods. This option is an intimate affair for groups of 2 or four only; hence it is perfect for a fancy date night or special occasion! The third option is the Salon menu with a more stylised menu with only 10 – 12 courses. That said, options are still extremely unique and out of this world! The menu is constantly being reinvented and tweaked to highlight seasonal ingredients and showcase new flavours. We recommend pairing your culinary journey with the wines. Be warned though, this is not a cheap eatery kind of place, with degustation meals costing from $275. Be sure to book in advance, sit back and enjoy the ride!
