Black Bambu

Black Bambu is a fairly newcomer on the dining scene in Phnom Penh. The restaurant itself is situated in a beautifully renovated house from the golden era of 1960s Cambodia architecture. Lovingly renovated by an Italian designer, the restaurant stands tall with its minimal white on white on white! Classically beautiful, the house provides a beautiful setting for the restaurant and allows food and drinks to truly shine!
Like many of the best restaurants in Cambodia, the menu shifts to highlight the freshest ingredients in the market. There are daily specials available that focus on whatever is in the season like blue swimmer crab and avocado salad. Many dishes at Black Bambu highlight the fusion of classic western meals with an Asian twist such as pork belly lark tacos with lime and cilantro or the truffle oil edamame beans. A must is the house favourite—chickpea fries with homemade mayo.

The hot nights in Cambodia make an icy cold beer or cocktail a must! Black Bambu offers craft beers from local beer king Cerevisia Brewhouse including Indian Pale Ale on tap and a rotating menu of other international beers. If you’re not a drinker you cannot go past the Black Bambu desserts—especially the crafted ice creams in flavours like rosemary and pistachio or bacon and vanilla!
