These Olympic Games villages are worth travelling for
During each Olympic Games, the host city will have a Games Village, a temporary residential complex complete with apartment-style housing units, dining halls, recreational facilities, and other amenities, to accommodate all athletes and games officials visiting the country for the games. After the events are over, most of these villages become off limits for visitors.

However, there are some Olympic villages around the world that you can still visit and see the parks, visit the visitor centres, and learn about the history of the games that took place there. Believe it or not, it is a pretty interesting activity.
Here are some of these Olympic villages that you can visit even after the games are long over.
Yanqing Olympic Village, Beijing
The Yanqing Olympic Zone was where participants of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games stayed. It is a miniature city in itself and is open to visitors. There are several attractions that you can see. The Beijing Olympic Village is more of a residential area but one can visit Yanqing for sightseeing and entertainment.
Olympiapark Berlin, Berlin
The park reopened in 2004 and visitors have been flocking to this Olympic village since then. In fact, it is one of the top tourist attractions in the city of Berlin. As a visitor, you have the option for a self-guided tour or join a group tour led by a proper tour guide. There are ample signboards all around the village to guide you. You can get your tickets from the visitor centre or the Olympic village’s website.
Vila Olímpica, Barcelona
This one’s one of the best there is. The Vila Olímpica was created for the 1992 Olympic Games, and it is still open to the public. It is a popular tourist destination in Barcelona where you can enjoy gorgeous beaches, luxury hotels, restaurants and try the water sports. There is also sailing that you can do when in Vila Olímpica.
Olympic Athletic Center of Athens Spiros Louis, Athens
The history of the Olympics and Athens go back centuries, even before the Olympics was a thing like it is today. There’s the Athens Olympic Park that you will love. There are private tour programmes (cost 50 Euros) that will take you on a tour of the internal facilities.
Vancouver Olympic Village, Vancouver
It is located in Vancouver’s False Creek area. After the 2010 Olympic games, the venue was turned into a swanky residential area but there are a lot of things for visitors too. For instance, if you are visiting the Vancouver Olympic Village, you can check out the retail stores, restaurants, or even go for a stay at one of the many hotels there, enjoy kayaking and immerse yourself in the indigenous art and culture that are on display there.
