As per latest news reports, the said Vindhyachal ropeway, will be the first-of-its-kind in east UP, and will be started in two phases. While one ropeway line connecting Kali Khoh and Ashtabhuja project is in its final stages, the second line connecting Ashtabhuja to the terminal (parking site) is still under construction, which is expected to complete by December end.
Referring to this, UP Tourism Joint Director (Varanasi) Avinash Mishra provided the details of the ropeway and ensured that the ropeway linking Kali Khoh and Ashtabhuja is almost complete, and will be opened for visitors in November.
In 2016, two ropeway projects including at Vindhyachal and Chitrakoot were announced, added Avinash Mishra. In 2017, both the proposals got green signal from the state government. However, as the area where the ropeway was proposed in Vindhyachal, came under the jurisdiction of forest department, its ropeway plan was finalised with the help of forest officials, which was later executed on PPP model, he informed.
