As a national park, it was established in 1950, and in 1978, it was also declared a tiger reserve under the Project Tiger initiative launched by the Government of India. The park is an important tiger habitat in South India and is home to a significant population of tigers. In addition to tigers, the park is also home to other wildlife species like elephants, leopards, Indian bison, sambar deer, barking deer, and various species of birds and reptiles.
This trekking programme will let you spend some time observing birds, butterflies and other wildlife for three hours, inside the park! The nature trails inside the park are incredibly beautiful.
