Situated on the western side of Interlaken, Lake Thun is an Alpine lake in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Named after the the city of Thun, on its northern shore, this lake was created after the last glacial period. Earlier it was a part of Lake Brienz but after 10th century it split from it and now is an independent water body. Read less

Situated on the western side of Interlaken, Lake Thun is an Alpine lake in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Named after the the city of Thun, on its northern shore, this lake was created after the last glacial period. Earlier it was a part of Lake Brienz but after 10th century it split from it and now is an independent water body. Surrounded by amazing landscapes in all sides, Lake Thun is a treat for the ones who find peace in nature’s grandeur. This lake offers wonderful boating experience and there are different boat trips to be made here. The main trip starts from Interlaken itself and takes about 2 hours to complete. A boat trip over the waters of Lake Thun is the best way to enjoy the beautiful region at a slow pace.
