Kundadri is a small hill near Agumbe and is located at a distance of about 110 km from Mangalore. Regular tourists who pass through Agumbe often miss Kundadri as it involves driving several kilometres deep in the forest and a crazy uphill drive with lots of sharp curves and steep inclines. If you’re a driving enthusiast, you will enjoy the thrill of negotiating these curves. If you do not have a vehicle or are not confident about driving up in narrow roads, you can hire a cab from nearby town of Agumbe.Kundadri hill has an ancient Jain temple on top of it, hence is often visited by members of Jain community who go out on temple tour. Next to the temple is a small pond and of course breathtaking views of the surroundings. If you’re lucky you might find yourself above the clouds―happens often on winter days and early mornings. Super cool breeze, completely free from any form of pollution is very refreshing. There’re no shops on top and no facilities available. However, you can visit Agumbe town for refreshments. A visit to Kundadri can be clubbed with Agumbe, Sringeri etc or you can deviate a bit while heading to Shivamogga.
