The Vietnam Military History Museum opened in 1956 and is home to the Flag Tower of Hanoi. There are many different artifacts in this museum worth viewing that will help you dive further into the history of Vietnam, of which the military history is very important.
You’ll get a chance to see the Wreckage of a Boeing B-52G, which was shot down during Operation Lineback II, a Cessna A-37B Dragonfly, a T-34 and T-54 Tank as well as many other various items relating to Vietnamese Military History.
The outside area of the museum is full of huge helicopters, planes and tanks and there are also bombs and weapons on display. Seeing these alone will give you an better perspective of Vietnamese resilience during the war. The flag tower is also very impressive and is an icon of Hanoi.
This is a wonderful museum to visit for those who are interested in learning about Hanoi’s past during the Vietnamese War and to get a better understanding of some of the Vietnamese’ perspective during this time.
