If you get tired of walking but are yet not tired of exploring the city of Tokyo—this one is for you. Take one of the cruises by the Sumida River—it comes at a price, albeit inexpensive, but it’s undoubtedly one of the best ways to enjoy some of the best sights of Tokyo from a different angle. The Sumida River runs across Tokyo for more than 16 miles, crossing seven districts on its way. The cruise starts from a pier east of the Asakusa station, a short walk from the Senso-ji Temple, and travels via different stations. The most popular and convenient route among these is a cruise ride from Asakusa to the Hamarikyu Gardens, which is a 40-minute-ride from the starting point. The route will sail you past landmarks like Sky Tree Tower and Tsujiki Fish Market, and the twelve historical and architecturally magnificent bridges on the river. Wave at the smiling onlookers by the sea side or take in the country breeze; let the river and the life delight you at every turn. Commentary, available in both English and Japanese, adds learning to entertainment, while picking the English leaflet helps.
