PhonePe launches AI-powered SmartPages to help merchants create payment pages quickly

PhonePe has launched SmartPages, a new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tool designed to help merchants create professional payment pages in minutes without requiring technical expertise. The digital payments company said SmartPages is the first AI-powered payment page creator integrated directly into a payment gateway dashboard in India.According to the company, the feature is built into the PhonePe Payment Gateway (PG) platform and aims to simplify the process of getting businesses online and ready to accept payments. Traditionally, merchants have relied on website developers or no-code tools to build payment pages, often spending hours or even weeks creating content, designing layouts and setting up payment systems. With SmartPages, PhonePe says, it aims to significantly reduce that effort.Deep Agrawal, vice president and head of payments at PhonePe, said SmartPages addresses two major challenges faced by small businesses and independent sellers: limited technical resources and difficulty in creating effective marketing content.The AI-powered tool allows merchants to simply describe their product or service in a few sentences. The system then automatically generates product descriptions, designs the page layout, selects relevant customer input fields such as contact information or shipping details and creates a mobile-friendly payment page, the company claims.It claims that SmartPages can help merchants launch a fully functional payment page in less than 10 minutes, compared to the longer timelines typically associated with website development.The platform also supports multiple regional languages, allowing merchants to create payment pages in the language of their choice. PhonePe says this feature can help local and regional sellers connect more effectively with their target audiences and overcome language barriers in digital commerce.Another key feature is automatic optimisation for both mobile and desktop devices, ensuring customers have a seamless checkout experience regardless of the device they use.Since SmartPages is integrated directly into the PhonePe Payment Gateway, merchants can immediately access payment processing, support for multiple payment methods, and real-time analytics without any additional integration work.
