“The guys carrying the torch…”: Sami Zayn praises two WWE Raw superstars

The Canadian professional wrestler, Sami Zayn, is in his fourth year reigning as the WWE Intercontinental Champion. However, the Intercontinental Champion fears losing his title to two of the most promising and upcoming stars. In a recent interview with Wrestling Inc., Zayn analyzed and commented on how Bron Breakker and Ilja Dragunov are very capable contenders who both possess the ability to replace him. However, it's something Zayn looks forward to. While appreciating the capabilities of both the contenders in the recent matches, Zayn said,” It's fresh as a daisy, you can't judge it just yet, but I'd say they're both off to great starts. And Breakker especially. Bron has definitely been packaged and presented, and he definitely holds up his end of the bargain when it comes to it, but just sort of this intense athletic freak of nature. So I think they both have extremely promising careers.”Breakker's unique “powerhouse” style with his signature finishing move of Camel Clutch, the gorilla press power slam and spear won him many hearts among the WWE enthusiasts. On the other hand, Dragunov's agility, intensity, and the passion he adds to the sport makes him a tough opponent to even the bravest.In the very recent matches of the WWE Intercontinental Championship, both Breakker and Dragunov have been putting in their all to challenge Zayn's run as the WWE Intercontinental Champion. So far, Zayn has successfully managed to hold his title, defending it against Breakker at Money in the Bank and wrestling Dragunov to a no contest on “Raw”. The reigning king of the WWE Intercontinental Championship is not shy of passing on his baton to the next winner. In an interview with Wrestling Inc., Zayn said, “I think they're both very unique performers. I do think those two guys are the future. You can't judge their career now a few months in, but both are looking very promising. And I think five, six years from now, they're going to be making a lot of noise. They're going to be the guys carrying the torch, I think”.In the upcoming SummerSlam starting from August 4, 2024, Breakker is all set for a match with Zayn. While the reigning legend knows it won't be long before either Breakker or Dragunov overtakes him, it seems Zayn is not completely ready to let go of his title just yet.
