The defenseman was acquired by the Stars, keeping in view his brilliant NHL record of 17 years.
As per the NHL, Myers has amassed 403 points in 1,123 regular-season contests with prominent teams like the Winnipeg Jets, the Buffalo Sabres, and the Vancouver Canucks. The Dallas Stars have made a significant roster move on Wednesday, after they acquired veteran defenseman Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks in advance of the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline, the team’s management announced.
According to the Vancouver Canucks, “General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the #Canucks have acquired a second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2029 NHL Draft from the Dallas Stars in exchange for D Tyler Myers (50% salary retained).”
Announcing the same, Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill said, "Tyler is a veteran defenseman that will immediately add to our group," Nill said. "His ability to play on the right side will give us an added element of flexibility on the blueline. We would like to welcome Tyler and his family to Dallas."
According to reports, with over 17 years of experience in the NHL, the veteran defenseman would make significant contributions to the team. So far, he recorded eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 57 games while averaging over 20 minutes of ice time. He further added, “We also appreciate Tyler and his agent working with us to get this deal done. Acquiring two more draft picks in this trade with the Stars will help us continue to rebuild and improve our roster in the years to come.”
