Cardi B just broke records, made $70 million, and had to explain basic math to the internet. All while her baby daddy is unemployed and under NFL investigation.
Yeah. It's that kind of offseason.
Cardi B shuts down confusion over her $70 million earnings as the Little Miss Drama Tour became the biggest debut arena tour ever by a female rapper
On May 19, Cardi hopped on an X and went off. People had been questioning why she was taking brand deals after grossing $70 million on her Little Miss Drama Tour. Her response?
"My tour didn't 'supposedly' gross $70 million. It actually did gross $70 million. But y'all a little bit slow."She then broke it down. Live Nation gave her a $20 million advance. A cut went to her agency, management, and production. She personally put in her own money, bringing the total production cost to $35 million. So no, the $70 million didn't just land in her bank account. Tours are a business.
"Even if I didn't go on tour, I don't be hurting for money at all," she added. And then announced promoters are already fighting over her next tour, likely September or October.
The Little Miss Drama Tour was not a small deal. Thirty-five sold-out dates. 453,000 tickets. $70 million gross. The highest-grossing debut arena tour by a female rapper in history. No opening act. A 37-song setlist. Six wardrobe changes. Surprise appearances from Missy Elliott, Lil' Kim, and Megan Thee Stallion. Madison Square Garden, two nights, $5.3 million combined. All of this less than six months after having a baby.
That baby, by the way, is Stefon Diggs'.
While Cardi B dominated arenas, Stefon Diggs was dealing with unemployment and NFL scrutiny
While Cardi was selling out arenas across North America, her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend, depending on the week, was having a completely different 2026.
Diggs was cut by the New England Patriots in March despite leading the team with 85 catches and over 1,000 yards last season. The reason? His cap hit jumped from $10.5 million to $26.5 million, and the Patriots didn't want to pay it. He also came with legal baggage. Diggs was facing felony strangulation and assault charges after an alleged incident with his personal chef in December 2025. He was acquitted in May, but the NFL's personal conduct policy review is still ongoing. He remains unsigned.
The couple had already hit a wall by then. Sources told People that Cardi "pulled back" from the relationship after the Super Bowl, where the Patriots lost, saying things had gotten
"too heated and complicated." They unfollowed each other on Instagram. Then, in May, they were spotted at a Mother's Day event together. Then TMZ caught them in a full argument outside a Maryland coffee shop.
So. On. Off. On. Off.
It's surprising to see this kind of gap between two people who were, not long ago, one of the most talked-about couples in sports and entertainment. Cardi is coming off the biggest tour of her career, has promoters fighting over her next run, and is unbothered enough to do a whole X Space explaining tour economics to her haters.
Stefon Diggs is 32, still waiting for a team, and hoping the NFL doesn't suspend him before he even signs anywhere.
Seems safe to say the power in this situationship has shifted. Significantly.
