“Best things in life”: Drake Maye’s opening night comments turn personal as he shares marriage advice with Patriots teammates
A memorable and heartwarming moment featuring Patriots quarterback Drake Maye came out recently during opening night media sessions leading up to Super Bowl LX. The 23-year-old was asked about his marriage to Ann Michael Hudson, his childhood sweetheart, and his answer was honest and surprisingly emotional. In a room filled with cameras and reporters, Maye did not hesitate to talk about what marriage has meant to him.
He also advised his teammates to get married and described marriage as the best thing he has experienced in his life. Further adding that he does not regret marrying young, his profound words offered a rare glimpse of his personal life and views, right as New England prepares for the biggest game of the year.
Maye added, "I know my teammates, some of them are experiencing different parts of their life in what stages. But I chose to get married young, and I don’t regret it one bit." The QB’s sincerity and transparency reveal how content he is in his personal life and how he has nothing to hide.
That same sincerity has followed him since his wedding last June. After tying the knot, Maye and Hudson reportedly chose not to keep their wedding gifts. Instead, they donated them to local homeless shelters and children’s centers, quietly helping families in the area where he grew up.
Maye’s Opening Night also included a lighter moment, as he recalled meeting NFL legend Terry Bradshaw and getting teased for his signature. He stated that it was a huge fan moment for him to get to meet Bradshaw and was reminded of why he's renowned as one of the best quarterbacks of all time, along with the love he shows for fans.
