Charles Barkley made his comments during an episode of “Inside the NBA” podcast, where he confidently stated that he does not believe LeBron James will remain with the Lakers following the 2026 season. He stated:

“There’s one thing I’m sure of, this is his last year with the Lakers. He’s not going to play with the Lakers next year. I’ve always said I’d like to see him finish in Cleveland”.



According to Barkley, the current situation in Los Angeles suggests that the franchise is slowly turning toward a new phase, one that may not fully revolve around James anymore. As the team is shifting their focus on their star player Luka Doncic, James’ future with the franchise remains questionable.
