NEW DELHI: A young wrestler from Pune tragically passed away after suffering a fatal heart attack while exercising in a gym on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old Vikram Parkhi, who resided in Maan within Mulshi taluka, was reportedly engaged in an intense workout session when he suddenly began experiencing discomfort.
Despite being rushed to a medical facility in Pimpri-Chinchwad, he unfortunately passed away before receiving treatment.
A distinguished wrestler, Parkhi had brought honour to his taluka by clinching the Kumar Maharashtra Kesri championship.
His impressive career included medals at the Maharashtra Kesri competition and various national and international tournaments. His achievements also encompassed winning prestigious maces at different competitions.
The Maan community grieved the untimely departure of the talented sportsman, with numerous prominent wrestlers expressing their dismay at his passing. He leaves behind his father, former serviceman Shivajirao Parkhi, and his brother, emerging leader Babasaheb Parkhi.
