Formula 1 fans received a surprise LEGO reveal just before the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. The LEGO Group officially introduced two new McLaren Formula 1 helmet sets inspired by Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. The new releases celebrate McLaren’s 1000th Formula 1 race and continue LEGO’s growing partnership with the sport. According to Bricks Up, both helmets will officially release on June 3, 2026.The two helmet sets quickly grabbed attention online because they look very different from the earlier Ferrari versions based on Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Instead of using the drivers’ normal helmet colors, LEGO created special split designs linked to McLaren’s Monaco celebration theme. Fans are already comparing them with previous Formula 1 display sets and discussing which design looks better.

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris LEGO Formula 1 helmets celebrate McLaren’s historic 1000th Grand Prix

The first set revealed was the 43017 McLaren Mastercard F1 Team Oscar Piastri Helmet. LEGO designed the model using a unique two-sided look. One half carries different shades of blue with sharp lines, while the other side uses McLaren’s famous papaya color. The set also includes McLaren sponsor details and Oscar Piastri’s “OP” logo across the helmet.
The helmet comes attached to a black display stand and includes an exclusive Oscar Piastri LEGO minifigure in casual clothing. LEGO confirmed the set is made for ages 14 and above. The second reveal focused on reigning Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris. His 43023 McLaren Mastercard F1 Team Lando Norris Helmet follows the same split-theme idea but adds Norris’ famous fluorescent yellow glitch pattern on one side. The other side again uses McLaren papaya colors connected to the team’s special Monaco race weekend design.LEGO confirmed both helmet sets contain 793 pieces each. Norris’ version also includes an exclusive minifigure wearing a black outfit with white shoes and his printed “LN” logo on the torso. A printed display plaque with his signature, McLaren branding, and his 2026 number one is also included. The Lando Norris set is priced at $89.99, €89.99, and £79.99. Both the Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris helmets officially release on June 3, 2026.The reveal has already created strong reactions among Formula 1 and LEGO collectors online. Some fans love the special Monaco-inspired designs, while others believe LEGO reused too much from earlier Ferrari helmet sets. Still, with McLaren currently leading Formula 1 conversations, these helmets could easily become two of the biggest LEGO racing releases of the summer.
