IGPL unveiled: 10 franchises to feature in new golf league

NEW DELHI: The AM Green India Golf Premier League (IGPL) unveiled its league with the announcement of the squads for its ten franchises in the Capital on Thursday.The inaugural season will feature 15 events, with 10 staged across franchise home cities and five held overseas. SUBSCRIBE NOW!The league will feature 10 franchises which include Atri Mumbai GC, Auro Realty Goa GC, Green Fuels Vizag GC, Flying Man Kolkata GC, Golf Konnekt Bengaluru, Honer Homes Gurugram, Krishna Punjab GC, Phoenix Hyderabad GC, RVR Delhi GC and Vimtra Chennai GC.Co-founder Yuvraj Singh highlighted the league’s dynamic format, said “The team component would inject pace into the game.”Dhiraj Jain, owner of the Bengaluru franchise, said "Golf in India is becoming increasingly lucrative.”Each team consists of four players. Players will compete for individual prizes from a pool of Rs 1.5 crore while representing their team.
