AHMEDABAD: Komal Deval's brace helped Warriors beat Phoenix 3-0 and clinch the coveted girls' category SBS Cup cage football title played at Shanti Business School ground on Monday.
Warriors, who thrashed Avengers by a similar margin in their previous game, started from where they had left. Though the goals did not come at regular intervals, but they were in complete command of the game right from the word go.
1x1 polls

The first goal came in the seventh minute with Palak Patel providing his team with the much needed lead. Trailing by a goal, Avengers did try to break even, but the Warriors defence wall proved too strong to breach.
In the penultimate minute of the first-half, Warriors doubled their lead with strike from Komal. A brilliant through ball by Palak landed right in front of Komal, who just tapped it in to the goal. The team took the break with Warriors leading 2-0.
The second-half witnessed some quality attacks and counter attacks but not many goals could be scored. Avenegers did get a few opportunities to reduce the deficit and get back into the game. But misfired shots and some agile keeping by Warriors custodian kept them at bay.
The final nail in the coffin was struck in the 15th minute and once again it was Komal, who did the honours. She dribbled past two Avengers defenders and fired a bullet to the wrong side of Avengers goalkeeper into the goal. Komal was declared the player of the match for her two goals.
