Mohammedan Sporting appoint Shankarlal Chakraborty as technical director

Mohammedan Sporting Club have, expectedly, appointed former Mohun Bagan coach Shankarlal Chakraborty as the team's technical director for the upcoming edition of the I-League. He will work with head coach Jose Hevia to help the team achieve success. Chakraborty held a meeting with Hevia, Mohammedan Sporting Club's football secretary Dipendu Biswas and general secretary Sk. KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club have, expectedly, appointed former Mohun Bagan coach Shankarlal Chakraborty as the team's technical director for the upcoming edition of the I-League. He will work with head coach Jose Hevia to help the team achieve success.
Chakraborty held a meeting with Hevia, Mohammedan Sporting Club's football secretary Dipendu Biswas and general secretary Sk.

"When I got to the club, I met Wasim (Akram) and Dipendu (Biswas). When I heard their ambition, I must say that I was really interested because it is an exciting challenge. They want so much for this club. It's a challenge and I like to take up challenges. I hope to contribute to the success of Mohammedan Sporting Club in the I-League," Chakraborty was quoted as saying in a press statement issued by Mohammedan Sporting Club on Friday.
"Football is about teamwork. I am really looking forward to working with coach Jose Hevia. I am going to support him with my knowledge and experience," he added. Meanwhile, the Kolkata side is all set to release forward Philip Adjah and sign defender Eze Kingsley in his place.
The I-League which will be held in Bengal starts on January 9 and Mohammedan Sporting Club will be in action on the opening day. The major chunk of Mohammedan Sporting Club's squad will enter the bio-bubble on Saturday while a few others, who are yet to undergo all the three Covid-19 tests, will get in a few days later.
