... it all happened as Australian batsman Aaron Finch bludgeoned the highest-ever Twenty20 international (T20I) score—172 off 76 balls versus Zimbabwe in Harare. In fact, he smashed his own record set five years ago versus England in Southampton, bettering it by 16 runs.However, he fell 3 short of the highest-ever 20-over score: 175 by Chris Gayle in IPL 2013His effort also resulted in the highest-ever T20I partnership—223 along with fellow opener D'Arcy Short. That's 52 better than the earlier record set by New Zealand's Martin Guptill & Kane Williamson, vs Pakistan in 2016.Also broken:
