In fact, he smashed his own record set five years ago versus England in Southampton, bettering it by 16 runs.However, he fell 3 short of the highest-ever 20-over score: 175 by Chris Gayle in IPL 2013His effort also resulted in the highest-ever T20I partnership—223 along with fellow opener D'Arcy Short.
