RCB vs CSK Highlights, IPL 2026: Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru showcased their firepower in IPL 2026 with a dominant 43-run victory over Chennai Super Kings at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.
After being put in to bat, RCB started cautiously, failing to hit a boundary in the first three overs on a slightly tacky surface. Virat Kohli looked the most assured early, while Phil Salt found his rhythm gradually. A crucial partnership between Salt (46) and Devdutt Padikkal stabilised the innings, with Padikkal eventually taking charge to compile a fluent 50 off 29 balls.
The real carnage came in the death overs. Following Padikkal’s dismissal, skipper Rajat Patidar joined forces with Tim David, and the duo unleashed an onslaught. David was particularly destructive, hammering an unbeaten 70 off just 25 balls, including eight towering sixes, while Patidar contributed a blistering 48* off 19 deliveries, guiding RCB to a massive 250/3.
Chasing a steep target, CSK suffered early blows as Jacob Duffy struck twice to remove Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissing Ayush Mhatre shortly after.
Sarfaraz Khan counterattacked with a 24-ball fifty, taking CSK to 77 in the PowerPlay, but Krunal Pandya turned the game with his first-ball dismissal of Sarfaraz, followed by the removal of Kartik Sharma. Jitesh Sharma’s one-handed catch to dismiss Shivam Dube further dented the chase.
Though Prashant Veer (43) and Jamie Overton (37) tried to rebuild, regular breakthroughs from Bhuvneshwar (3/41), Krunal (2/36), and Suyash Sharma kept CSK under pressure. They were eventually bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs.
With this emphatic win, RCB extended their winning streak and reinforced their position as early title contenders, while CSK find themselves at the bottom of the table with three consecutive losses.
