Pakistan knock Bangladesh out of World Cup with seven-wicket win
Not enough runs, The wicket was really good, we lost early wickets again. There were some partnerships, but not big partnerships. Disappointing with the bat. Credit should go to Pakistan, the way they bowled and the way they batted in the first 10 overs. (On his batting position) We'll have to think about that. We are not getting many runs from the top four batsmen. I was batting in the top four, I wasn't scoring. My confidence was low too.
After the Asia Cup, I practiced a lot on my batting, I was looking good at the camp and was looking forward to making it to the team. Today, my hard work paid off after I was given a chance. I told Abdullah that I will see off the first few overs, I knew I could hit big sixes. My role is to make it easy for my partner, so it was important to see off the first few overs and then play my shots. NRR was in our mind after we reached 100, the aim was to finish it off in 30 overs. I had too many failures, I was looking towards such a knock and hopefully I'll make bigger scores in the next few games.

Brilliant bowling from us, the wicket was very slow, we bowled straight and stuck to our plans. The ball was reversing, we discussed it and the reverse was helpful for us. He's a different class (on Shaheen Afridi), he comes and takes wickets with the new ball, puts the opposition under pressure and that's good for us.

Big achievement for me and for Pakistan (on being on the cusp of 100 wickets). I still remember my debut match and now I’m close to 100 wickets. I’m happy and looking forward to it. (On the previous game) As a team we collapsed, you win as a team and lose as a team. We gave our best but result is not in our hand. We performed our best but a loss is a loss, we will try our best in the next three games. There isn’t much swing early on, length is crucial. We saw hard length is very important and that’s what we’ve been trying as a bowling group. Wasim was struggling in the past but the way he bowled in the nets and proved himself was a good sign for Pakistan. He proved that he can play when he got the chance.

We would also like to bat first. There might be some swing in it early on because there is some moisture in it. Last match we were good in all three departments. There was some good energy. I am also waiting for a big innings, I will try to convert into a hundred. Three changes, Imam, Shadab and Nawaz out, Fakhar, Salman and Usama in
We will bat first, looks like a dry wicket, we played the last game here, it was slow and there was turn. We have nothing to lose, we have to play well in the first 10 overs and hopefully we can go from there. We haven’t been consistent enough, we have been doing bits and pieces but haven’t performed collectively and that has been disappointing. There isn’t much difference between in here and Dhaka in terms of culture so hopefully we will have some good support
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan wins toss, opts to bat against Pakistan
We discussed it, we had our team meetings, so we sat down, we talked about it, but we have to show it in action and that the talk is cheap when it's not working. So, we'll do it at the ground so the action can take care of it and everyone can see it. I mean, only we can change the situation of the team with our actions. So that's what we are trying to do. There is a lot to play for. As you know, we have to win to be able to qualify for the Champions Trophy. That's an important target I think we can set at this moment. We have to win. We have no other option and that's what we would look to do.
We are desperate to bring joy to our nation. We are desperate to make our nation very proud of this cricket team. And we are also realistic in the knowledge that we haven't put all departments of our game together over the last four games but four losses does not define who we are as players, as coaches or a team, So we're determined now to focus on what we can control and that is putting our best on the park in these last three games and then leaving that to fate as - to determine the remainder of the tournament for Pakistan.
