Shanu Suresh: Mollywood's top TV anchor

Shanu Suresh, the lovely lass who also made her vibrant presence felt through TV shows and beauty pageants is quite a familiar face to Malayalee audience. Her programme Page 3 on Kappa TV also became a huge hit owing to her unique theme and kind of presentation. While she was studying in Bengaluru, she would catch a bus to Kerala every Friday , to shoot the show on Saturday and go back as soon as it is wrapped up! When she had exams, the team used to work out the dates and shoot in advance or accordingly.

Fame and lime light is nothing new for this anchor. Shanu has hosted the shows way back in 2012, which garnered tremendous feedback. When we started out, these segments mostly centred around topics related to fashion and makeup.Due to popular demand, we launched segments like What’s boiling intothe show. It brings to the audience news and gossip from the film and glam world. She hosted many youthful segments like Style Me, Rendezvous Counter, Querry Box and Portrait Squaire also bring in tremendous feedback.

Shanu started her modelling when she was 13 and have worked on a variety of assignments. Though she did not take it up quite seriously first and it all was just fun for her. But eventually, the actress learned the art of choosing films. In a recent interview she said – “I am a lot more selective about the work I take up – be it a photo shoot or hosting – and quality matters to me.”

Amidst her hectic schedule as an anchor and as model, Shanu never side-lined her education. Even when she had her hands full of modelling offers, the lovely lass carried academics alongside all the extra-curricular activities. She just finished MSC in Industrial Psychology and is also thinking about pursuing corporate training next. Though the actress got movie offer was from Lal Jose to act in Rasikan, but academics had always been a priority for her.

Unfortunately Shanu too have had some casting couch experiences, but she managed to convey that she is a professional and does not entertain any other attitude when it comes to work. She said “I have my strong principles and believe that people will come to you with good assignments if you are talented.” Being someone who loves art, Shanu always look for the kind of creativity involved in the project. For instance, one of her y recent shoots was for a face and body art project, which was a fresh concept. She always try to experiment with my work.
