What is next for India
India's women doubles pair of Sania Mirza-Prarthana Thombare will play their 1st round match today, while in Table Tennis, Sharath Kamal Achanta and Soumyajit Ghosh will try to put behind the disappointment of woman paddlers crashing out in the opening round as they start their campaign in a short while. Also, weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu will be in action in 48 kg category. Stay tuned.
"It should have been about celebrating a career. I am in a position of being the soft target, so a lot of guys wanna (sic) take shots at me. Fine, go for it. I am also just another human being, trying my best. But Leander is soft target. I will keep going as I am resilient. I know a lot of stories are being fed."

Choppy waters
Wind and choppy waters on the Rodrigo de Freitas Lake caused anxious moments for rowers on the opening day of the Olympic rowing regatta on Saturday, with gold medal contender Kimberly Brennan just avoiding a major setback. A Serbian boat sank and Egyptian rower Nadia Negm said she felt "like a Viking" as waves lapped over the boats.
Just one positive result so far...
India's day so far: DB Bokhnal into men's single scull QFs; Apurvi Chandela, Ayonika Paul (women’s 10m air rifle) out; Mouma Das (TT) out.
