Manjeet Singh from Chandigarh will represent India's challenge in the lightweight men's double sculls event of rowing along with Sandeep Kumar. Manjeet and Sandeep made it to the London Olympics by virtue of their third-place finish at the FISA Olympic Continental Qualification Regatta for Asia in Chung Ju, Korea.
London will be Manjeet's second appearance in the Olympics, having rowed in the same event at the Beijing Games in 2008. This is the fourth time in a row Indian rowers have qualified for Olympics.
In 2004, Manjeet started his basic training in rowing at Chandigarh Rowing Training Centre at Sukhna Lake and under the guidance of Arvind Sehgal, coach from Chandigarh Sports Council.
