According to legends, it is believed that presiding deities in the temple seem to "talk" to each other at night, after the temple is closed for darshan, and devotees and local residents have reported hearing faint sounds from inside the holy walls, resembling voices in a conversation. While it must sound like a folklore, the reports have been consistent over decades. Visitors have often described this experience as surreal and spine-chilling and for many, hearing these faint noises enhances the spiritual aura of this temple, making their visit an unforgettable experience.

The legacy of a 400-year-old temple

The Rajarajeshwari Tripura Sundari Temple is believed to have been established around 400 years ago, by a tantric named Bhawani Mishra. According to local beliefs, he carefully selected this sacred spot to build this shrine to honor the great Goddess Tripura Sundari and other deities as well. The temple was designed to follow both, Vedic as well as tantric rituals, a combination that has been faithfully preserved over the centuries. Tantra practitioners consider that this temple is particularly powerful, and has special energy to its location and consecrated deities. Pilgrims often visit this temple in a hope of attaining divine blessings, spiritual awakening from the Goddess herself. Apart from being a religious place, this temple is also a testament to Bihar's rich culture and history that attracts devotees from far and wide.

While Lalita Tripura Sundari is the presiding deity of this temple, she is also accompanied by other divine figures as well, such as Maa Kali, Maa Tara, Mata Bhuvaneshwari, Maa Chinnamasta, Maa Pitamabara, Maa Dhumavati and Maa Matangi. Each of these deities hold their own symbolic significance and is worshipped with specific rituals, that are believed to impress them. Many devotees feel the powerful presence of presiding deities and a heightened sense of divinity due to multiple gods and goddesses under one roof, where multiple forms of divine energy are celebrated together.
