Practical ways to stop wasting your time

Do you ever find yourself at the end of the day, feeling that nothing much has been done, though you've put in extreme efforts and dedicated all your time to work? Well, you're not alone- - this is something we all go through! The good news is that, with a few practical and simple habits, you can save time for yourself while getting more out of your day. Here are five easy ways to stop wasting time and feel more productive. Dive in and read on!

2/7

Be selective with your commitments

Take a closer look and reflect on how you are spending your time. It is important and even beneficial to be intentional about the commitments you make. By selecting and prioritizing your commitments, you can reduce the stress from overcommitting, while also helping you experience meaningful experiences.

3/7

Limit multitasking

Everyone wants to finish their tasks quickly, but juggling multiple things at once is of no good. Multitasking requires that you divide your time and attention into various tasks, all of which cause issues involving brain fog, heavy feelings, tension, stress, and confusion. Instead of performing ten things at a go, the aim should be to give a hundred percent focus on one thing and give all your time and effort into making it work.

4/7

Apply the two-minute rule

The Two-Minute Rule is a simple strategy to quit wasting time. It means that if the task can be taken care of in two minutes or less, you should do it now, rather than saving it for later. This is because if people keep adding little things in addition, the little things may turn into bigger tasks when they are needed the most and cause added stress. For example, when you have an email that you need to respond to immediately, do it immediately; do not delay.

5/7

Capsule wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe is a small and selective collection of clothing in the wardrobe that can be mixed to create many different outfits. Make sure to look for versatile and basic pieces with fit and can be mixed and matched with different style looks. This simple habit can greatly significantly reduce the fatigue of decision-making while saving a good amount of your time.

6/7

Invest in quality over quantity

Rather than filling your space with a lot of low-quality items, invest in fewer high-quality ones. Quality items are usually more durable and do very well over time, which helps you save money in the long run, as well as saves you some time to look for their replacements continuously.

7/7

Take healthy breaks

Taking breaks from work or stressful situations helps you recharge-- mentally, physically, and emotionally. This will help you cut-off stress from your life, and focus on things that are truly important in life.
