Throwback to the 1970s and 80s

Anil Ambani's wife Tina Ambani needs no introduction. While she was a famous Bollywood actress in the 70s and 80s before getting married to Anil Ambani in 1992, she is now known for her works as a philanthropist and as the Chairperson of Reliance Group. Tina Munim's filmy career

Born in a Gujarati family in Mumbai, Tina Munim was just 20-years-old when she stepped into the world of Bollywood. She started her career as a model and she even won the title of Femina Teen Princess India in 1975. In 1978, she made her debut in films in Dev Anand’s 'Des Pardes', and later went to to do several successful films including 'Karz', 'Man Pasand', 'Souten', among others.

Tina Munim

Tina Munim became one of the most sought-after actresses in the 1970s and 1980s. In the '80s, she was offered a few films where she was paired with Bollywood's first superstar Rajesh Khanna and their pairing was a huge hit among the viewers. So much so that Tina Munim and Rajesh Khanna ended up working together in 11 movies together, some of which were huge hits.

What Rajesh Khanna said about Tina Munim

He was a megastar of his time, and she was an ardent admirer of his and a popular actress in her own right. And soon, their professional rapport transcended into a friendship, despite an age-gap of 15 years between them. This was the time when Kaka (that's how Rajesh Khanna was fondly called) was going through a difficult phase in his marriage with Dimple Kapadia. He even spoke about his equation with Tina Munim in an earlier interview and said, "Tina was a balm on my wounds.”

Bollywood's first superstar, Rajesh Khanna was married to Dimple Kapadia. The couple had two daughters together-- Twinkle and Rinki-- however, they had their share of ups and downs in their marriage and were separated. It is interesting to note that his elder daughter, Twinkle Khanna shared his birth date!

What went wrong?

However, things didn't go well between them and their bond ended after seven years in 1987. In an interview, Tina Munim once opened up about Rajesh Khanna and shared her view point. “Kaka (Rajesh Khanna) was incapable of loving anyone. He was only ever in love with himself,” she said in a rare interview, as per Masala!

Tina and Anil Ambani

But fate had other plans for Tina Munim. After many years of no-contact with Anil Ambani, destiny brought them together and the duo reconnected-- finally getting married in 1991. The couple has been together for over 30 years now and they have two sons-- Jai Anmol and Jai Anshul.
