DIY remedies for cold

With the weather in the city being unpredictable, most people tend to catch cold easily. If you are tired of popping a pill three times a day, or simply do not have the time to visit the doctor, here are some grandma-certified home remedies which will help you to have a speedy recovery.
2/6

 Honey and ginger juice

Honey is known for soothing the throat, and ginger has antibiotic properties. Grind some ginger, mix it with an equal amount of honey, and consume it. If you don't like the taste, you can mix it with half a glass of warm milk and have it. This instantly clears up the nasal passage and soothes a dry throat.
3/6

Turmeric

Turmeric can be used in multiple ways. If you have whole turmeric bulbs, burn one end of the bulb, and inhale the smoke for instant relief. You can also boil turmeric powder with milk and and have it.
4/6

Flaxseeds, lime juice and honey

Flaxseeds work wonders for cold. Boil the flaxseeds in water till the mixture thickens, take the essence. Add some lime juice and honey (according to taste) and have this twice a day.
5/6

Jaggery

Jaggery is great to soothe a sore throat. Boil water and black pepper together. Then add some cumin, boil it for some more time, add few pieces of jaggery and mix it well, till the jaggery melts completely. This helps in clearing up chest infections.
6/6

Masala Chai

If you are a tea lover, there is nothing like masala chai, which can provide instant relief from cold. Boil water with tea leaves, and add some spices of your choice (clove, cinnamon, ginger and black pepper work best). Once it's boiled properly, take it black. You can add some honey to balance the taste.
