4 ingredients your coffee should have

4 ingredients for every coffee lover

Your morning cuppa is your favourite companion, for it charges you for the rest of your day and keeps you awake at the most worn-out times. But sometimes, even your treasured coffee can’t save your day and you tend to get bored with it. Coffee does not only have to mean coffee powder, water, milk and sugar. Here are four things which can surprise your taste buds.

2/5

Spices

SPICES: Just like your beloved coffee's counterpart masala chai, spices can be added to coffee as well. To get a festive flavour to your favourite morning drink you can add nutmeg, cinnamon, star anise, cardamom or even a flower like lavender. Not only will these enhance the flavour of your coffee but will also kick in the added benefits of antioxidants these spices contain.

3/5

Unsweetened cocoa

UNSWEETENED COCOA: If your coffee contains a dense flavour of chocolate which coats your tongue, you tend to love it all the more. Rather than adding preservative loaded chocolate syrup to your coffee and increasing its calorie content, try adding one tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa and see the difference. Cocoa is great for heart health and helps improve blood flow.

4/5

Extracts

EXTRACTS: If you like your coffee clean without any added spices or cocoa, you can opt for coconut or vanilla extract to bring in a twist. It is lighter on your tongue and will not increase the heaviness of your coffee.

5/5

Salt

SALT: Yes. You can add salt to your coffee. But not a tea- or table-spoon. For the new coffee lovers, bitterness of this drink can really get to your otherwise neutral tongue. In order to cut this sharp flavour, you can add a dash of salt. Adding salt will help enrich the flavour of coffee.
