Sore throat is currently one of the common symptoms caused by the Omicron variant. In many cases, patients also feel dryness and irritation which could be caused by inflammation in the back of their throat.

Other signs your sore throat is from COVID

Compared to other sore throats, a COVID sore throat may feel worse on the first day of infection but gets better on each following day. A COVID sore throat usually appears in the first week of the infection and may improve quickly. According to health experts, it usually lasts no more than five days. You should consult your doctor again if you continue to suffer from sore throat for over five days.
