8 signs of ovarian cancer that can be easily ignored

Ovarian cancer occurs when cancer cells start to form in the tissue of the ovaries, foundational organs of a woman's reproductive system. Its signs, such as bloating or tiredness, are easily disregarded, enabling the cancer to progress undetected. It attacks mercilessly, requiring tremendous strength and bravery in those it touches, making ordinary aggravations symptoms of a far greater danger.
Here are some common signs that shouldn't be ignored

2/12

Pelvic or lower abdominal pain

Pain or discomfort happening repetitively in the lower abdomen or pelvic area, particularly if unrelated to menstruation, may be an indicator. Pain would be sort of a pressure or a dull cramp, and it frequently worsens with time. It may happen when tumor growth in internal organs in the pelvis compresses them.

3/12

Unusual and unexplained fatigue

Unusual tiredness even after proper rest can be an early warning sign of many cancers, such as ovarian. This type of tiredness is usually deep, persistent, and not alleviated by sleep. Weakness or low energy may occur along with it. If fatigue is new, persistent, and unexplained, it should be noted.

4/12

Feeling full quickly

If one is unable to eat as much as normal or gets uncomfortably full after a few bites, pay attention. This symptom, referred to as early satiety, is commonly associated with increased pressure in the abdominal cavity due to an expanding ovarian tumour. In contrast to normal hunger changes, this condition will get progressively worse.

5/12

Changes in bowel habits

Chronic constipation, diarrhea, or an unexplained change in the consistency or frequency of stool may mean something is irritating your digestive system. This can occur if a tumor begins to push against sections of the colon or rectum. Don't chalk it up to diet, particularly if it is new and doesn't resolve with dietary adjustments.

6/12

Unexplained weight loss

Weight loss without modification of diet or physical activity can be a blessing at first, but it is a red flag. In ovarian cancer, unexplained weight loss can be due to metabolic alterations from cancer or decreased appetite. If you're losing weight unintentionally, it's time to check in with your physician.

7/12

Abnormal vaginal bleeding and discharge

Ovarian cancer occasionally produces abnormal vaginal bleeding, particularly in postmenopausal women. Even mild spotting or water discharge that's out of character for your cycle must be assessed. While less frequent than other symptoms, any irregular bleeding unrelated to menstruation is medically relevant and cannot be ignored.

8/12

Recurring abdominal bloating

Repeat bloating that doesn't remit, even after changes in diet, may be an early indicator of ovarian cancer. It may be confused with gas, indigestion, or hormonal bloating. But if your belly feels perpetually swollen or tight for longer than a couple of weeks, fluid accumulation or mass development in the ovaries might be the cause.

9/12

Frequent urination

Sudden, unexplained urges to urinate, especially if they are frequent and not caused by a urinary tract infection, can be an early symptom of ovarian cancer. As the tumour grows, it may put pressure on the bladder, reducing its capacity. If you’re waking up at night to urinate more often, this symptom should be discussed with a doctor.

10/12

Stay vigilant

Staying vigilant will have help you in the long run

11/12

Get tested regularly

Regular testing, especially after 40 is important to prevent cancers

12/12

Consult a doctor

Talk to your doctor if you experience these symptoms.
